For Clinicians

Sub-specialty radiology review for your patients

ScanCheck partners with doctors, allied health professionals, and other clinicians by providing independent sub-specialty radiology review of imaging your patients have already had. For cases where you want an additional perspective from a senior sub-specialty radiologist — for diagnosis, treatment planning, or simply to confirm a finding — ScanCheck offers a fast, structured pathway.

Why partner with ScanCheck

Sub-specialty radiology is often unavailable in regional and many private settings. Even where it is available, getting an independent sub-specialty opinion on a specific case can be difficult. ScanCheck makes this routine:

  • FRANZCR-fellowed Australian radiologists — independent of your imaging facility
  • Sub-specialty coverage — paediatrics, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, chest and cardiovascular, abdominal, women’s health, nuclear medicine
  • Reports usually delivered within five business days of us receiving images
  • Detailed written report suitable for inclusion in your patient’s medical record
  • Pricing transparency — written quote provided before any commitment

How clinician referrals work

The referral pathway is patient-led but clinician-supported:

  1. Patient submits an enquiry at scancheck.com.au — they can identify you as their treating clinician
  2. Quote and consent form sent to the patient
  3. Patient consents, pays, and uploads imaging
  4. ScanCheck radiologist reviews and produces a written report
  5. Report delivered to the patient — they can share it with you, or we can send it directly to you with their authorisation

Complex cases: talk to Dr McCormack directly

For complex cases where you want to discuss with a ScanCheck radiologist before initiating a formal review — to confirm whether a second opinion is appropriate, ask a specific question, or talk through the clinical context — you can request a call with Dr Samuel McCormack, ScanCheck’s founder and senior sub-specialty radiologist.

Email support@scancheck.com.au with a brief outline of the case and request a call. We’ll come back within one business day to arrange a time.

Billing and arrangements

ScanCheck is a patient-paid service. There is no Medicare rebate for second-opinion reviews of this nature, and the service is not covered by private health insurance. Pricing is set out in full on our Pricing page.

For practices or institutions interested in volume-based pricing, multi-radiologist peer review, or other structured arrangements, email support@scancheck.com.au to discuss.

What each review delivers

  • A comprehensive written sub-specialty report
  • Clear interpretation of the imaging, including any findings that may have been missed or warrant different management
  • Recommendations for further imaging or investigation where appropriate
  • Sub-specialty perspective you can incorporate into your treatment planning
